Ramya Akula is a Ph.D. Student – Graduate Research Assistant at Complex Adaptive Systems Laboratory in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Central Florida. Ramya earned her master’s degree in Computer science from Technical University of Kaiserslautern, Germany and her bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, India. Shes completed several software enhancement projects in industry and academia. Ramya has a passion for intelligent systems, cyber-physical systems, and human behavioral computational systems using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Ramya is a competent professional with 7+ years of experience in leading and managing small scale software projects and diverse business operations with a wide range of global exposure. She has spent 6+ years in end-to-end Software Project Management with SCRUM experience, of which 5+ years in application development and 3+ years’ experience in combining project management practices with Agile development requirements while ensuring proficiency in resources management, strategic planning, customer support, and process management. She also has experience as a business strategist who transforms strategic plans into workable solutions and benchmarks performance against key operational project goals. After Ramya graduates with her doctorate degree, she aim to be a Technology Entrepreneur. She successfully completed UCF I-Corps Spring 2019 cohort Site program.

Research Interests:

Social-Cyber-security, Social Behavioral Bio-metrics, Natural Language Processing, and Deep Learning.

Fun Facts:

Ramya speaks five languages! English, German (intermediate), Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada.

She enjoys traveling and cooking. Her life philosophy is: “Courage found from unlikely journeys of life…Live Simple…Love Healthy…!!!.”
